Massimiliano “MaX” Meneghin is a Principal Research Scientist on Accelerated Computing at Autodesk Research. His research focuses on parallel and distributed computing and in particular on programming models, synchronization mechanisms and optimizations for shared memory and accelerated architectures.
Before joining Autodesk Research, MaX was a Research Scientist at IBM Research Dublin in the High Performance System Team where he was involved in the performance and scalability analysis of both big data analytics frameworks and graph databases. He was also part of a project to incorporate FPGA capabilities inside the MapReduce framework.
Between 2010 and 2013, MaX was a Research Engineer in the Hybrid System Team at IBM Research Dublin where he worked on the optimization of Indri (an information retrieval tool leveraged by the IBM Watson system) and on the design and development of a programming environment for the IBM PowerEN system-on-a-chip.
MaX received his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Pisa with a thesis on an optimization theory for structured stencil-based data parallel applications.
