Dr. Jian Zhao is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Autodesk Research. His research interests, generally, fall in the areas of Information Visualization and Human-Computer Interaction. He is particularly interested in developing highly-interactive visualization techniques for temporal data analysis. He received his Ph.D. from the Department of Computer Science, University of Toronto, where he worked with Dr. Ravin Balakrishnan. He also conducted research as interns at several leading industrial labs, including Microsoft Research Redmond, IBM Research Almaden, and Adobe Research. He is the recipient of many scholarships and awards, including a Mitacs Postdoctoral Award, two Wolfond Scholarships, a Wolfond Fellowship, a Robert E. Lansdale/Okino Graduate Fellowship, and several Honorable Mention paper awards at IEEE VIS and ACM CHI. Before joining University of Toronto, he received his B.Eng. degree in Computer Science at the Zhejiang University in China. More information can be found on his personal website.
