Hui Li is a Principal Research Scientist in the Robotics Lab. She has a Ph.D. in AI from MIT. At Autodesk, her main research area is the intersection of machine learning and robotics for manufacturing and construction automation applications. An important research focus of hers is bridging the gap between simulation and reality in robot learning. Prior to Autodesk, Hui led the R&D team at Airware, where her team built computer vision and machine learning capabilities for localization and navigation of commercial drones. Before that, she worked on building an agile robotic platform for airplane manufacturing automation at Boeing Research. While at MIT, she collaborated with NASA on underwater robots as well as space exploration robots. In her spare time, she likes to learn everything about consciousness and tinker with making electronic music.
