Chris has been a research scientist with the Bio/Nano group since 2014, and is also the lab manager for the Life Sciences Workshop at Pier 9. He received his B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from UC Santa Cruz. His current focus is on bioprinting, meaning both using 3D printers to aid in regenerative medicine, and also adapting materials of biological origin to be usable on SLA/DLP printers. He has collaborated with EpiBone on helping to generate 3D printed trabecular scaffolds for bone growth, and is currently adapting the same process to work with chitosan and collagen.
