Chris Chekan is an industrial designer, professional saxophonist, teacher, and coffee expert. Before joining Autodesk, Chris was the founder and chief designer of Monarch Methods, a line of specialty coffee gear available in more than 30 countries worldwide. He also worked with numerous interior architects to design and produce custom products for cafés, restaurants, retailers, luxury homes and more. In a past life, he was Head of Innovation for the internationally renowned Pilot Coffee, in charge of developing novel approaches to roasting, brewing and serving great coffee.
Chris studied design and music at York University and was a successful graduate of Ontario's Futurpreneur and the City of Toronto's Starter Company programs for young entrepreneurs. He is is passionate about Design for Manufacturing and how technology impacts the way products are designed and made.
