The University of Colorado Boulder (UCB, commonly referred to as CU or Colorado) is a public research university located in Boulder, Colorado, United States. It is the flagship university of the University of Colorado system and was founded five months before Colorado was admitted to the Union in 1876.

CU-Boulder is home to more than 2,100 academic faculty, nearly 2,000 research faculty, more than 700 visiting international scholars and over 3,600 staff members. Faculty honors including five Nobel Laureates, nine MacArthur Fellowships, and one Carnegie Foundation Professor of the Year.
